--

I apologise this page is a little dull - it's part of a much longer page that I split into two, and this so happens to be a the angsty exposition part. The second part will be page 11 and feature Donahue and Moira.

So, unfortiunately, there's no Moira this time - just a lot of angry canon characters. If you got called back to work in the middle of the night, you'd be angry too. The commute to Saffron's a killer. :V

People all have different interpretations of who the canon characters actually are - some drastically more different than others. Is so-and-so cohabitating with his gay lover? Is so-and-so a lesbian? Is so-and-so a serial killer or a psychopath? In most cases, it's just meant to shock the audience and make a story seem more 'mature' when it's actually not. It's rarely used outside of a cheap shock tactic, but in the rarecases it's done properly, it's usually done very very properly. I wasn't going to take too big a risk, but I did want to play about with the idea that Lorelei was a married mom. She seems like the kind who'd be a great mother, if a bit stern. :B You'll see her family in the next chapter.

If anyone's reminded of Gary's first few lines, yes, it's totally intentional. Gary's a little more like Agatha than he'd care to admit.

Also Shadow's a dork.

Also also - you all know where the red convertible came from. :eyes:

The comic will be on hold while I go back to school. Year two's going to be a bit of a doozy, but I do hope you'll be waiting for the next update! QuQ It's wonderful to have readers like you all.

Oooh, you talked in descriptions before about Pokemon here having the same rights as humans, and therefore being capable of getting some similar jobs. I do really love the extension to the idea, of each trainer team having its own family. Often I don't really see nuzlockes exploring the idea of party members having a family, and if they do I don't really see them keeping in touch. I suppose it makes a bit of sense, a larger cast becomes progressively harder to juggle, but these lines of dialogue referencing it you've got are so nice!
And you say that this page is a bit dull, but reinforcing how like people Pokemon are treated in this world-- jobs, families, cultures, homes-- and then seeing what, precisely, Team Rocket is doing to them in spite of that? Really drives in how reprehensible they are and builds up to them being more terrifying antagonists.

Also I'm liking Shadow a lot, but alas I am biased because Umbreon is among my favorites.
